There are two airports on Cape Cod: the Cape Cod Gateway Airport (formerly called Barnstable Municipal Airport) in Hyannis and the Provincetown Municipal Airport in Provincetown.

Flying into Hyannis

You can fly into Cape Cod Gateway Airport in Hyannis from Boston or New York City. It is the larger of the two airports on Cape Cod.

Hyannis is located in the middle of Cape Cod, and it makes sense to fly here if you’re staying in the Upper Cape (Bourne, Sandwich, Falmouth, Mashpee), the Mid-Cape (Barnstable, Dennis, Yarmouth), or the Lower Cape (Brewster, Harwich, Chatham, Orleans).

Cape Air has year-round flights from Boston (Logan International Airport). They happen multiple times a day and are 35 minutes long. Cape Air flies out of Terminal C.

JetBlue has seasonal flights from New York City (John F. Kennedy International Airport and LaGuardia Airport). They happen once daily and are 1 hour 10 minutes long.

Cape Air and JetBlue are partners, so any connections should be smooth.

Ground Transportation

You can get rental cars from Avis, Budget, Enterprise, and Hertz. You should book in advance.

You can get taxis, Uber, and Lyft too, and there are buses from the Cape Cod Reginal Transit Authority (CCRTA).

Flying into Provincetown

You can fly into Provincetown Municipal Airport in Provincetown from Boston. It is the smaller of the two airports on Cape Cod.

Provincetown is located on the tip of Cape Cod, and it makes sense to fly here if you’re staying in the Outer Cape (Eastham, Wellfleet, Truro, Provincetown).

Cape Air has year-round flights from Boston (Logan International Airport). They happen multiple times a day and are 30 minutes long. Cape Air flies out of Terminal C.

Ground Transportation

You can get rental cars from Enterprise. They are seasonal, and you should book in advance.

There are taxis available too, and you can get seasonal buses from the Cape Cod Reginal Transit Authority (CCRTA).

Other Airports Near Cape Cod

Some people prefer to fly into a city and then drive to Cape Cod rather than hop on a second flight. Two airports near Cape Cod are Logan International Airport in Boston and T.F. Green International Airport in Providence.

The drive from either airport is about 1.5 hours. You can rent a car or take a bus.
